On Friday, the 49-year-old fisherman was rescued off the coast of Perth, Western Australia after a boat accident that killed one man and left another missing. 

"The naked man was spotted by a local news helicopter after he had spent nearly 20 hours treading water. A hammerhead shark was spotted near him as he tried to stay afloat off the coast of Leeman about 270km (167 miles) north of Perth, according to local media." BBC. 

Meanwhile, in the Philippines, state weather bureau PAGASA warns everyone to brace themselves as there are more storms to hit the country this month. Tropical storm "Helen" has entered the territory on weekend and already been threatening many areas in Luzon.

PAGASA says that Helen is expected to bring more heavy rains. So brace yourselves and be prepared!

In other news, the London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony was held yesterday, 12 August 2012 with spectacular fireworks that lit up the Olympic Park in Stratford, London. 

Rio de Janeiro will be hosting the next Olympic Games in 2016.

Mark Barriga, Team Philippines' best bet in the Olympic Games, has just lost his chance to advance to the quarterfinals when Birzhan Zhakypov of Kazakhstan overpowered, crushed, and brought him to the floor at the second round of 16 of Men's Light Fly Boxing (49Kg) in London.

The Philippines' last Olympic Medal was in 1996 Atlanta Games when Onyok Velasco brought home the Silver Medal in boxing.

Meanwhile, three more Olympians are still competing in London:

August 7 – Marestella Torres (Long Jump)  
August 8 – Rene Herrera (5,000m Race)

NASA is sending a massive robot rover (a.k.a Curiosity) to next door neighbor space, Mars.

Curiosity's exciting task is to study and search for a biological history of Planet Mars.

"We are about to land a small compact car on the surface with a trunk-load of instruments. This is a pretty amazing feat getting ready to happen. It's exciting, it's daring - but it's fantastic," - Doug McCuistion, the head of Nasa's Mars.

"The $2.5bn mission is due to touch down at 05:31 GMT (06:31 BST) Monday 6 August; 22:31 PDT, Sunday 5 August," - BBC.
